Student Holiday Workshops

The student holiday workshops take place on FCPS student holidays. Through drawing, painting, and collage techniques, young artists get to learn about perspective and creating a sense of space and movement in their work of art. All supplies are provided.

Spring Lake Collage

In this richly layered mixed-media project, artists build a peaceful spring lake scene bursting with color, texture and life. Painted papers, coffee filter florals, and dimensional details like lily pads and a tiny frog come together to create a scene that feels alive with movement and discovery. Inspired by Monet’s gardens, this project invites artists to explore layering, depth and the magic of a moment in nature.

Savannah Sunset Collage

Artists create a vibrant, layered safari scene filled with roaming animals, textured trees and a glowing sunset sky. Using painted papers and a burlap-inspired printed frame, this mixed-media project is rich with depth, color and creative exploration. Each piece feels like a window into the savannah, full of movement, storytelling and detail.
